~Rehoboth ThanksLIVING Gala Dinner Moves Oceanfront~

VegRehoboth is thrilled to announce that the ever-popular Rehoboth Beach ThanksLIVING Dinner is moving to a stunning new venue this year and will be more spectacular than ever!  It will take place Sunday November 22, at 3 pm,  at Salero – the penthouse floor with sweeping ocean views! Salero is located on the top (8th) floor of the Henlopen Hotel near the north end of the Boardwalk.  It is a magnificent venue and a recent winner of the “Best of Weddings” site from The Knot.  For our special ThanksLIVING Dinner, Executive Chef David Horton will be preparing fabulous vegan dishes that capture the seasonal traditional flavors of the holiday, and an awesome dessert is being specially hand-crafted by Chef Denise Vansant of Cave Girl at the Beach.

The white-linen tablecloth ThanksLIVING event features sit-down dining and a 3 course meal, beginning with special vegan hors d’oeuvres:

Soba Noodles with Red Pepper & Almond Pesto & Julienne Snow Peas

Vegetable Spring Rolls              

Bruschetta with Artichoke and Olive Tapenade

Dinner features your choice of one of two fabulous Entrees:

Gardein Meat-FreeTurk’y Holiday Roast with Cranberry Wild Rice Stuffing and Homestyle Gravy, or

Quinoa Stuffed Winter Squash with Cranberries and Pinenuts

Each Entrée will be accompanied by Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Steamed Broccoli.

Dessert will be exquisite: ‘Dark Chocolate Apple Zucchini Brownies with Salted Chocolate Ganache,’ specially hand-made by the awesome local chef Denise Vansant, of Cave Girl at the Beach.

Rehoboth Beach VegFest 2015 is going to be fantastic! The FREE Festival on Saturday June 13, 2015 celebrates healthy, sustainable, and compassionate living.
This year features all new speakers, amazing food, even more exhibitors – and Lots of fun!!
Related VegFest activities take place all weekend long, including a Friday evening kickoff dinner and film screening of an exciting new documentary, and Sunday Celebrity Vegan Brunch.
The free #RBVegFest15 Festival takes place Sat June 13, 2015 on the grounds of Epworth Church. It’s conveniently located on Route 1-Coastal Hwy, adjacent to Seaside Outlet Mall.  There is plenty of free parking; access is also bike-friendly, right next to the bike path. And free shuttle service runs regularly all day long between VegFest and pickup points at the Pavillion at the Boardwalk and also the Visitor Center.

Rehoboth ThanksLIVING Dinner Reopens with Second Seating

Large numbers of people seeking a plant-based alternative to the traditional meat-heavy meal have prompted Rehoboth ThanksLIVING Dinner organizers to expand the event!

The popular dinner will take place Sunday November 23rd, at Cilantro Restaurant in downtown Rehoboth.  The first seating will begin as originally planned at 3pm.  A new, second seating has been added and will start at 6pm.
“That first seating sold out within days,” explains Patricia Haddock, VegRehoboth president and co-founder. “We kept getting more inquiries – people remember how great last year’s food was, and a lot more people are curious and want to try a traditional holiday meal that is completely plant-based. These new folks are in for a really nice surprise,” she adds. “Our participating chefs are outdoing themselves!”
The 3-course, sit-down meal with feature seasonal food creatively prepared by chefs Leo Cabrera of Modern Mixture, Hari Cameron of a(MUSE), Jay Caputo of Espuma, Gladys Fernandez of Cilantro, Gretchen Hanson of Hobos, bread master Keith Irwin of Old World Breads, and owner/chef Denise Vansant from Cave Girl at the Beach. Gardein meat-free Holiday Turk’y Roasts will also be provided by VegRehoboth.
In addition to the compassionate celebratory foods, the dinner will feature door prizes and a raffle of the best-selling cookbook Color Me Vegan, by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau.  A full cash bar will also be available.
